Repackaging a line of software & hardware
Micro 2000 asked us to design a completely new look for their entire product line of computer software and hardware products. RemoteScope was the first in this series, featuring a new red, orange, white and violet color scheme along with a photo collage on the cover. Collages were created from a combination of stock and custom-created photography, screen captures and illustrations— each one demonstrating the use or function of the product.

The box cover is designed as a sleeve that slides over a corrugated box—a strategy that allows the company to save money when products change. Boxes can be bought in bulk and all new products and updates just get new, inexpensive-to-print sleeves. Also included in this project was the creation of a cardboard wallet containing a CD and floppy disk combo, floppy label and CD face designs.

How to make a book jacket cover pop
With the tremendous volume of books being published every year it is essential to create dramatic "shelf-appeal" through cover art—and not only dramatic but communicative. We interviewed the author, Brad Hedgecorth, on the contents of his manuscript and determined what he considered the two most important aspects of owning a hydrogen-fuel powered car: 1) Cleaner air and environment, and 2) that the car still be stylish and powerful.

Since no photos of hydrogen fueled cars were available at the time of design, we photographed a dark green late model car (actually a Honda Accord LX) omitting any obvious features that would easily determine the make. A sky shot was taken and the two images were digitally merged to produce the image as shown. The green and yellow colors were selected to further enhance the environmentally-friendly theme. The book has been published by Vital Information, Inc. in various printed and digital formats.
