The perfect gift for the frustrated mechanic
Bill Hochstrasser of Creative Dice, Inc. is a mechanic who came up with a great novelty gift idea several years ago. Initially as a gag he'd had a few sets of "Diagnostic Dice" made up for some friends and told them "when all else fails, just roll the dice". The novelty caught on and he needed packaging for the professional version he was having manufactured in China. The dice are now selling well and getting recognition all over the U.S., Canada and England. Possibly on the horizon: Dating Dice.

An obstetrician's bright idea brings birthing relief to millions of pregnant women
After working for more than 30 years delivering babies, Dr. Ju Rhee of California developed an ingeneously simple pair of adjustable straps that allow pregnant women to pull their knees up to assist in giving birth (as shown in the drawing). During long deliveries, mothers tend to perspire making their legs slippery and reducing leverage. Our challenge was to come up with packaging that was appealing and descriptive yet sensitive to the delicate nature of the birthing process. A model was hired and various reference photographs were taken to get the proper body position. The drawing was then carefully created using delicate, flowing feminine lines at an angle that was in good taste but very communicative.
