Recovering source code from custom computer applications
Codeworks Software of California created software designed to take machine language code from CA-Clipper and Nantucket Clipper, and convert it back into editable code that could then be reworked. This is pretty technical but the upshot of the thing is that old code could then be re-utilized—something that was said to be impossible prior to Valkyrie's appearance. As a historical note, the Valkyrie were the fabled handmaidens of the Norse Gods (Odin, Thor, Loki, etc.) whose job it was to recover fallen heros from battlefields and bring them to Valhalla to wine and wench with the Gods in glorious celebration of their mighty deeds. Similarly, the software of the same name was designed to recover "dead" computer code so that it could be resurrected into useable form. This design project was completed several years ago and we've since lost track of the company, so Dave if you're still out there, give us a call to let us know how you're doing these days.

The design for Greg's first video diary came to us through a printing associate. We were given several feet of film to review and select one or two appropriate shots to use on the video box. Using high-resolution scanners we were able to take the tiny frame and enlarge and manipulate it appropriately for printing. Several months later Greg appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and displayed the new packaging to millions of viewers in the U.S., Canada and overseas.
